1. Rules for the EXPRESS contest by Hotel Curious
The prize:
1 pack with 2 cotton tote bags with the Hotel Curious design "Your gateway to Barcelona"

What to do?

1) Hotel Curious will give 2 summer tote bags through Facebook to one of its followers.

2) To participate, you need to be a fan of the Facebook page of Hotel Curious and leave us a comment on the photo contest mentioning a friend or a relative of yours.


- All people over 18 may participate, of any nationality and country of residence.

- Only comments within the contest image (to be published each week by Hotel Curious) will be able to participate.

- It is required to be a follower of the Hotel Curious Facebook fan page.

- You can only participate once in each contest.

- On Friday at 2PM there will be a raffle with all participants with and we will have the winner of the bags. It will be communicated through an answer in the comment of the winner.

- The bags will be waiting at Hotel Curious to be picked (Carme Street 25, Barcelona) from the day after the name of the winner had been announced. In no case shipments will be made.
- The bags are stored at Hotel Curious to three months from the date of the publication of the winner.

- Participation in this competition implies acceptance and compliance of these rules.

2. What is the best way to come to the Hotel and the cost ?

Hotel Curious is located in the heart of Barcelona, ​​making it very easy to arrive by public transport.


There are 3 options:

  1. Taxi:
    The easiest option is to simply catch a taxi from the port to the city centre which is cheap (fare around €15.00 to the city centre) and quick (normally less than 10 minutes).


  1. Walking:

The nearest cruise terminal is about a 15 minute walk away from La Rambla. However there are 7 cruise terminals and if you arrive at one which is furthest from La Rambla you would need to catch a shuttle bus called the T3 PORTBUS (see details below) which will take you to Mirador de Colom (the memorial to Christopher Columbus).

It is not recommended to walk to the city centre if you are arriving at cruise terminals A, B, C or D (Adossat Quay) because you have a long walk (about 2 km) from the terminal to the Columbus Monument which is at the foot of La Rambla. If you have luggage you will not find this walk comfortable in the midday heat. If you are arriving at the North, East or South terminals (World Trade Centre) then it is possible for you to walk, although it is still a good 15 minutes to the foot of La Rambla.


  1. Bus (T3 PORTBUS – Blue Bus)

The tickets for the T3 PORTBUS can only be purchased with cash on the bus itself.

The walking time from the Christopher Columbus monument to La Rambla is about 1 minute, and the nearest Metro Station is Drassanes (Green Line, L3), which is only about 5 minutes walk from the monument. Once you are at the metro station you will have a good transport connection to the rest of the city. The price of the T3 PORTBUS ticket is €2.50 for a single trip and €3.50  for a day return.

You cannot use the T10 transport ticket on this cruise bus service. There is no fixed timetable for the Blue Bus however the cruise terminal operators co-ordinate the running of the bus with the arrival and departures of the cruise ships. On average the bus leaves every 30 minutes from the Christopher Columbus monument.



There are 3 options:

  1. Taxi:
    Leaving the airport you will find a line of taxis that can bring you to Hotel Curious (Carrer de Carme, 25, Barcelona) . The approximate price is 40 € and the journey takes about 20 minutes.


  1. Aerobus:

You can take this bus in all airport terminals and it will bring you until Plaça Catalunya. There are two lines; you can take the A1 in airport's Terminal 1 while A2 departs from Terminal 2.

The price is about 6 € for a one way ticket while the round trip ticket costs about 11 €.  

You have to get off at the last stop (Plaça Catalunya):

Hotel Curious: Carrer del Carme, 25. 08001 Barcelona

The journey will take about 30-35 minutes.


  1. Train + Metro:

It’s the most difficult but economical option. You will need a public transport ticket. We recommend you the T-10 ticket (10 trips Bonus that you can use for the rest of your stay), that can be purchased at the train station or subway.

The airport train station is located in Terminal 2 B, if your flight arrives at Terminal 1 you can take a free airport bus to go to the train station.
Once there you have to take C2 train line and get off at Sants station.

From there you have to take the metro line 3 (green) and travel until Liceu station. Once there follow the map to get to Hotel Curious.


The journey will take about 1 hour.



Girona Airport is located 103 km from Barcelona. To reach Barcelona by public transport you have two options:

  1. Taxi:  The trip to Barcelona with Taxi costs about 120 €.


  1. Bus + metro:

Another option to go to Barcelona is the bus, which costs around € 16 for single ticket and € 25 for the round trip. The bus trip takes about 75 minutes.

The bus departs from the bus terminal in Girona’s Airport. There is more than one bus line, so you should pay attention and take the bus to Barcelona.

The bus arrives at the main bus terminal in Barcelona, North Station.

 From there you should take the Metro line 1 (red) and stops in Catalunya station.

 Once there you have to follow this map to arrive at Hotel Curious. Total time trip: > 2 hours

3. When do we have to make the payment for the reservation ?

The payment of your reservation will be done at the Hotel during the check-in process. We will ask you what type of payment you prefer (cash or credit card). In case it is with credit card, it can be a different one than the one you used to garantee your reservation.

4. Why do you need the credit card number and expiration date ?

The credit card number is needed to garantee the reservation. No charge will be done on it untill you come and make the payment.

5. Is it possible to arrive before/after the official check-in time ?

The official check-in time frame allow us to manage ourselves a frame used for the cleaning of the rooms. Before, depending on circumstances (early cleaning) you might enjoy the room a little earlier than planned. After, the Hotel is open 24h and we know that plains do not care about check-in time so we keep your room untill you arrive. This why we need you to tell us about your estimated time of arrival (at the airport or the Hotel). If you planned to arrive after 18:00, please advise us (mail or phone call)

6. Can you keep our luggages before check-in/after check-out ?

We do have a special loocked and secured room for luggages storing so you do not have to worry about them in case you arrive early or leave late.

7. How can I/we cancel the reservation without beeing charged ?

Booking done from our webpage : you just need to send us an e-mail 48h prior to your check-in date and there will be no charge.

Booking done from other portals : you need to cancel your reservation from the same portal 48h prior to your check-in date and there will be no charge.


8. What does the prices include ?

The prices given in our webpage includes Breakfast and Taxes so the price you will pay at the check-in is the one you saw when you did your reservation (it also appears on your reservation confirmation).

9. What is already in the room (shampoo, soap, sheets, towels) ?

The rooms are provided with fresh sheets, one pillow per personn, towels, shampoo, gel-soap and hairdryer.

10. Where is the closest car-park ? How much does it cost ? Is it possible

The closest underground car park : at the last crossroad on the PINTOR FORTUNY st (when going to Las Ramblas), or on the HOSPITAL street after the CARME st when you are going down. Both are underground parkings Parkings cost : approx 25 euros per day (24h)

11. How can make a special request about the room (2 pillows, high floor, ...) ?

During the booking process on our webpage, you will have the opportunity to leave us some comments about request or special questions you might have. We will do our best to answer you as soon as possible.

12. Is it possible to add an extra bed in the room ?

It depends, some rooms can afford the addition of an extra bed, some don´t. In case an extra adult bed is needed, please let us know us, we will answer you quickly.

13. Is the Hotel adapted to disabled personns – is there an elevator ?

Our Hotel is equiped for disabled personns not using a wheelchair or who can leave it temporarly.

Our Hotel has a lift from the reception (ground floor) that can be used by disabled personns. The access from the elevator to the rooms is also possible.

However, due to the age of the bilding and the size of the rooms, displacements within the rooms or access to the bathroom are not garanted

14. What type of Credit Card are accepted ?

WE accept most debit and credit card (Visa – Mastercard – Maestro - Dinner) and the American Express.

15. Are pets allowed?

No, we do not accept pets. If you travel with your pet you can contact with Hostal Mare Nostrum, our other establishment.
