PRIDE Barcelona 2010
Hotel Curious wants to announce this great event in Barcelona. There comes Gay Pride 2010! For the second year Barcelona has become the center of attention throughout Europe in relation to the LGBT community, in a country that is an example of coexistence among people of all types of sexual orientation. From 18th to 28th of June there will be festivals, debates, and cultural activities around the topic, a great festival which aims to reclaim the diversity, totally popular and non-profit. This event is organized with the volunteers who made this possible. On 27 June is scheduled at 18pm the great parade of floats and music, leaving from Universitat Sq. and walk Sepulveda street until reach Maria Cristina Avenue, where Institutions display and the party area will be open. At 20h reading of the manifesto and the party will start, free for anyone wishing to join. The previous days, cultural activities are organized in different towns in Catalonia, such as LGBT Fire! film festival, a popular sporting competition and Fetish Pride, to be held in the premises of the sector. There will be conferences, like the memorial to the repressed during the Franco regime and art exhibitions. This year will include elements of Catalan culture festival (giants, a group of 'Diables', the Dragon and 'castellers' will perform) in order to differentiate the festivals held in other locations in Europe and break the stereotypical image that is displayed of these figures. Another novelty is the children's area Pride Kids, to be installed at the Avenida Maria Cristina weekend of the 26th. Last year the event drew more than 50,000 people and joined the parade 20 floats and 25 groups on foot. After the success of 2009, the expected influx is 100,000 people from all over Europe. The anthem of this year is a song by The Chanclettes 'Aggay Road'. Besides promoting the Pride the videoclip shows a lot of places in the city, and it's very funny! Do not miss it!
